Inside: Just in time for Christmas, learn how to make a colorful button star ornament with a wooden star, yellow buttons, and glue. This easy holiday craft is perfect for home or school!
Today I’m excited to share a simple and colorful Button Star Ornament for kids in collaboration with the 10 Days of Kid-Made Christmas series.
Like last year, all of the kid-made ornaments are inspired by children’s books. It’s one of my favorite blog series—I just know you’ll enjoy following along too!
How to Make a Button Star Ornament
This year, our ornaments were inspired by Suzy Goose and the Christmas Star, a cheerful book about a goose and her friends who need a star for their Christmas tree.
Will Suzy be able to get the star?
You’ll have to read the story to find out!
When the story is finished, kids of all ages will enjoy creating shimmering Button Star Ornaments for their Christmas tree.
To Make This Craft You Will Need
After gathering supplies, generously coat the wooden star with Mod Podge.
Working from the middle of the star, press some of the larger buttons onto the wood.
Continue in this fashion, filling in gaps with smaller buttons and seed beads.
Allow the stars to dry completely before hot gluing a loop of ribbon to the back of each ornament.
They are so pretty and look fabulous on the tree or dangling from a Christmas gift!
