Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Hat Craft
Create a colorful Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Hat in a few simple steps.
Ingredients
- 6 Miniature craft sticks
- 4 Standard craft sticks
- Green acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- Gold paper
- Black paper
- Scissors
- Wooden shamrock buttons
- Tacky craft glue
- Green ribbon
Instructions
- Paint the craft sticks. Paint 4 miniature craft sticks and 4 standard craft sticks green. Paint 2 miniature craft sticks black. Allow paint to dry completely (30-60 minutes).
- Cut the standard craft sticks. Once dry, cut 2 of the green standard craft sticks in half.
- Arrange the hat shape. Lay out the craft sticks in a leprechaun hat shape: place 6 miniature sticks (4 green, 2 black) side by side for the hat top, and 2 full standard green sticks below for the brim.
- Secure the structure. Glue the 2 cut standard craft stick halves across the back of the arrangement to hold everything together.
- Add the buckle. Cut a 1-inch square of gold glitter paper and a ½‑inch square of black paper. Layer the black square on top of the yellow square and glue together. Glue the buckle to the center of the hat where the black sticks meet the green.
- Attach the hanging loop. Cut an 8-inch piece of green ribbon, form it into a loop, and glue the ends to the back of the hat.
- Let dry and display! Allow glue to dry completely (15-30 minutes), then hang and enjoy your festive leprechaun hat!
