This melted snowman in a jar is fun for kids to make at school, home, or at community programs, such as library storytime. Like a snow globe, kids will enjoy twisting and turning the jar to watch the melted snowman swirl around. It’s such a fun winter craft!
Soak the empty baby food jars in hot, soapy water to remove the labels. If needed, remove sticky residue with lemon essential oil or a product like Goo Gone. Allow the jars to dry completely.
Make the scarf for the snowman jar by cutting the fabric into a small, thin strip.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of glitter and 2 teaspoons of liquid glycerin into the jar. Drop the scarf, 1 carrot button, 7 miniature black buttons, and 1 miniature top hat into the jar. Fill the remainder of the jar with distilled water.
Twist the cap onto the jar. If desired, seal the jar with hot glue.
Shake the jar to distribute the glycerin and glitter.
Your melted snowman craft is complete.
